Control Gate Entry at Brentwood Self Storage in the Palm of Your Hand with EasyCode
Brentwood Self Storage is proud to announce that you can now open the security gate at our self-storage unit facility, and view access activity from your mobile device, with an app called EasyCode.
EasyCode is a mobile gate entry app for self-storage facilities that is now connected directly to our access control system, to open the security gate. No more remembering codes or getting in and out of your RV, moving van, or vehicles. The app is available for iPhone and Android devices in the App Store, and in the Google Play Store.
How to Get Your Set-Up Fee Waived
EasyCode is now available to all of our tenants, but there is a one-time set-up charge of $5.00.
This set-up fee can be waived if you enroll in our auto pay (automatic payments) for your self-storage unit account. By doing so, you will never have to worry about missing a bill again, plus you can open the security gate from your mobile device.
How to Sign Up
To sign up for our new EasyCode gate access service, stop by our office during normal business hours to speak with our manager. They will provide you with the 10 digit code required to use the app. Or, call us at (925) 240-7353 to learn more.
How to Use
Download the app by searching "EasyCode" in the App Store, or in the Google Play Store. We recommend that you download the latest version of the App which is 2.0. For your reference, it is the black and yellow icon. Once the app is downloaded, open EasyCode, and then click "Sign Up."
Next , you will be prompted to enter your site key. The site key is a 10 digit code you received from the Brentwood Self Storage manager. After entering your site key, enter your contact information in the fields, set a password, and you’re ready to open the security gates and view access activity from your mobile device.
The site key is designed to ensure the renter is connected to your property, and can only enter their unit, within a certain range of the property. Location services need to be turned on while EasyCode is in use.
Contact Brentwood Self Storage at (925) 240-7353 to gain access to your storage unit from your smartphone.
Thank you to all who joined us for our FREE pancake breakfast at La Hacienda Grill on December 7th. The event was a great success and we were delighted to welcome such a great group of people.
A highlight of the day included a kind woman from our community who donated an entire trunk of home-made crocheted slippers, scarves, and afghans. Brentwood Self Storage sends our sincerest gratitude to the anonymous donor. Peggy Smith, the agent from the Expressions of Love Foster Care Agency, was very pleased to pick up the 30+ pairs of PJ’s we collected.
Holding our children’s pajamas donation drive was a collaborative team-building exercise. But most importantly, it was a way to help support children in our community get a good night’s sleep, especially those affected by the North Bay fires. Thank you to everyone who supported the event including our sponsors Oakley Self Storage and La Hacienda Grill.

In the wake of natural disasters and unforeseen events, many residents have been kind enough to donate their time and money to help out, but we forget there is also a growing need for blood.
Brentwood Self Storage is asking for people to step up and donate their blood to the American Red Cross, by doing so will help ensure a sufficient blood supply throughout the holiday season. A decline in donations occurs from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day when donors are busy with family gatherings and travel.
The Red Cross encourages donors to start a new holiday tradition and bring family and friends together to donate blood. Donors of all blood types are needed to give to help ensure a sufficient supply for hospital patients.

Critters, pests, spiders, and creepy crawlers can do damaging effects in your storage unit, which is a risk we take seriously. Maintaining clean facilities is a big deal at our self-storage facility, and our team takes pride in regular inspections of our bait stations. When you walk into our mini-storage facility, you can expect to see a clean, welcoming, storage unit.
Here’s what you can expect from Brentwood Self Storage:
- Routine pest control treatments in and around all storage facilities
- Treatments that keep pests away from storage units and your personal belongings
While rodents and insects are simple enough to keep out of your home, keeping your storage unit pest-free can be trickier. Here are several tips we suggest to reduce the likelihood of pests entering your storage unit and damaging your belongings.
- Avoid storing food items at all costs. Make sure all items that may have held food at one point are washed and sanitized
- Wrap your upholstered furniture and any soft items that you can’t store in boxes in plastic wrap or plastic bags. This will ensure that if mice or rats hang out on top of your favorite blanket, it won’t damage the fabric. This will also help protect your belongings from moths
- Before you store your items, dust them off, and give everything a good once-over. Bringing critters along that are hiding in your belongings can cause havoc to your neighbors storage units
Our managers are happy to answer any questions you have about our pest control services. We want you to have bug-free storage experience!

Section of Highway 4 in Brentwood, CA to be Designated, Police Sergeant Scott Lunger Memorial Highway
A measure that designates a specified portion of State Highway 4 in Brentwood, CA as the Police Sergeant Scott Lunger Memorial Highway has passed, and will be enacted. This measure is in memory of Sgt. Lunger, a Brentwood resident who was shot and killed in the line of duty, while serving with the Hayward Police Department in 2015.
Assembly Concurrent Resolution No. 49 (ACR 49) designates the section of Highway 4 from Balfour Road in Brentwood, all the way to Laurel Road in Oakley. The Department of Transportation will determine the cost of the signage showing this special designation. The Brentwood Police Activities League will raise funds to pay for the signage, and work with Caltrans to have them installed. By law, state funds cannot be used to pay for and install memorial signs. All the funds must be raised privately.
Sgt. Lunger was born in Hayward and raised in Dublin. He graduated from Dublin High and continued his studies, playing football at both Diablo Valley College and Chico State University. He followed in the footsteps of his father and brother by completing the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 595’s apprenticeship program and worked his way up to general foreman to become a partner in the family’s electrical business.
In 2000, Lunger fulfilled a longtime desire to serve in law enforcement when he was hired by the Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department. Following his graduation from the 109th Alameda County Sheriff’s Department Class of 2000, Lunger accepted a position with the Hayward Police Department in May 2001. Finding his true calling as a police officer, he served in many capacities including: Special Duty, the Gang Task Force, SWAT and as a Field Training Officer.
Brentwood Self Storage is thankful Police Sergeant Scott Lunger is being remembered in the community of Brentwood where he lived, and spent most of his time off-duty. Brentwood Self Storage is also proud to support the local police department. We invite the residents in Brentwood to show how much they care for the men and women in our local police department by thanking them personally for their ability to protect and serve you.
